Cortica is looking for a School Behavior Technician to join its growing team!
The School Behavior Technician (SBT) provides direct behavior analytic services to students with autism spectrum disorder and other neurodevelopmental differences in school settings. The SBT works in collaboration with educators, school staff, and caregivers to support students’ success in the classroom and overall school environment. We safeguard equal rights and respect for all individuals, regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, creed, genetic information, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, ancestry, veteran status or other applicable, legally protected characteristics. All Cortica employment decisions are made based on an individual’s qualifications and ability to successfully perform the job responsibilities.

- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and skill acquisition programs, aligning with the student’s IEP and school goals.
- Work closely with school teams to integrate behavioral strategies into the daily classroom routine and support students’ engagement and learning.
- Support student development in communication, social skills, self-regulation, and self-care (e.g., toileting, hygiene, dressing) as appropriate to the school context.
- Utilize a strengths-based treatment approach developed in collaboration with the educational team.
- Collect data consistently on student progress and behaviors during each session and complete timely documentation, including session notes and incident reports.
- Participate in classroom observations, team meetings, and school-based training sessions as assigned.
- Implement proactive behavior support strategies and follow school safety and crisis protocols, including de-escalation and mandated reporting procedures.
- Travel between assigned work sites, as needed, within the designated service area.
