The Instructional Coach will work in a school-based setting and will be responsible for promoting an educational atmosphere where students have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and psychological growth. This person is responsible for assessing organizational instructional needs and then planning and delivering professional development accordingly, in such a way that will result in growth in student outcomes. An instructional coach is a learner who models continuous improvement, lifelong learning, and is committed to student success. - Teacher Capacity Building The role of the coach is to build teacher capacity, and their understanding of specially designed instructional practices and special education policy and procedures.
- Collaborative Teaming All instructional coaches work collaboratively with the Intern Teachers, Certified Teachers, Site Administrator, Lead Teacher, Program Specialists and Directors to ensure org wide instructional integrity.
- Reflective Adult Learning Instructional coaches will promote reflection, provide guidance and structure where needed; and focus on strengths, collaboration and common issues of concern related to instructional integrity.
- Evidence-Based Practice The Instructional Coach is responsible for promoting high-quality, evidence-based instructional practices in classrooms through modeling, co-planning, co-teaching and providing feedback to teachers.
- Education MA Degree
- 2 years of leadership experience specifically supporting adult learning
- 4 years of experience teaching students with specialized needs
- Dual certification preferred (General Education and Special Education)
- ADE K-12 Mild/Moderate Special Education Certification required
- Fingerprint Clearance Card
- First Aide/CPR
