ABA Centers of America is seeking an exceptional Vice President of Compensation to lead the establishment of our first Compensation Center of Excellence at our vibrant corporate headquarters in downtown Fort Lauderdale.
In this pivotal leadership role for our multi-state enterprise, you'll have the unique opportunity to design, implement, and evolve dynamic compensation strategies from the ground up. You'll partner closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams, driving innovative programs that attract top talent, support rapid growth, and align closely with our mission-driven culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic and operational leadership of the design, implementation, administration, and communication of all compensation programs.
- Identify needs and priorities of business partners, including conducting market research, guiding internal analysis, establishing design principles, outlining implications through modeling, determining employee and cost impacts, and creating communication and transition plans.
- Provide strategic leadership related to compensation issues and solutions ranging from individual employee recommendations to unique compensation program interventions (e.g., retention programs, one-time payments, off-cycle increases, etc.).
- Lead the Annual Compensation Review and all related work streams. This includes design, resource allocation, project management, and communication planning related to survey participation, market pricing practices, salary structures, budget recommendations and market analysis.
- Create and implement an effective job architecture that accounts for all levels.
- Ensure competitiveness of salary structures/variable pay via thorough market analysis, including data preparation, data analysis, development and delivery of observations, and recommendations to business leaders.
- Facilitate leader conversations pertaining to organization and job design to identify and scope work, clarify and articulate accountabilities, and develop solutions.
- Partner closely with the payroll and benefits teams to collaborate, execute, and evolve compensation philosophies with a holistic Total Rewards mindset.

- 10+ years of full-spectrum compensation experience with growing levels of responsibility and achievement, ideally in healthcare, hospitality, or multi-site industries with a large hourly-employee base.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Deep experience in broad-based compensation, job architecture, salary, and recognition programs is required. Experience with Executive Compensation is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience designing new compensation plans or redesigning existing ones.
- Experience working in a high-growth, rapidly expanding organization is preferred.
- Proven track record of thriving in fast-paced, hard-charging environments.
- Demonstrated capacity to be both hands-on and strategic, with strong credentials of scaling and successfully aligning compensation strategies with evolving business objectives.
- Exposure to high-volume hiring, fluctuating levels of turnover, and dynamic compensation requirements.
- Strong analytical acumen and the ability to partner with HR and Finance, as well as external consultants, e.g., Mercer and UKG.
- Ability to understand the business and anticipate the impact of compensation on the future success of the company.
- Demonstrated balance of IQ and EQ as a thought leader and collaborator among a senior management team.
- Tendency to lead by influence rather than authority and communicate complex concepts and recommend solutions across all audiences.
- Experience dealing with field structures that have site-based leadership, high-demand clinical staff, and hourly employees (preferred).
- Superior learning agility and intellectual curiosity with the ability to inspire creative thinking at all levels of the organization.
- Strong operational DNA with a vision, a plan, and an understanding of what will get results.
- Resilience required to build, iterate, and evolve solutions over-time, while remaining steadfast on achieving the desired outcomes.
