Metrocare is the largest provider of mental health, developmental disability and permanent supported housing services in Dallas County serving over 50,000 children, teens and adults annually. For over 55 years, Metrocare has provided a broad array of services from mental health care, primary care, services for veterans and their loved ones, accessible pharmacies, homeless outreach, and supportive social services. Metrocare provides specialty mental health services to over 10,000 children and teens and has numerous programs for babies, children and adults with disabilities, including Early Childhood Intervention, Flourishing Families, Nurturing Parenting, Supported Employment and two specialty autism clinics in Dallas and DeSoto. In conjunction with clinical care, Metrocare’s Altshuler Center for Education & Research is transforming the community mental health landscape of North Texas through workforce development focused on innovative partnerships and exceptional trauma-informed training.
The Director of Business Development is responsible for leading business development initiatives aimed at driving organizational growth and market expansion. This role involves developing and executing comprehensive business development strategies, performing market and competitive analysis, and supporting leadership with data driven recommendations. The incumbent will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, evaluate, and implement new business opportunities that align with the organization’s objectives.
HOURS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Monday – Friday 8 am – 5 pm
Essential Duties And Responsibilities

- Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies aligned with the organization’s short- and long-term objectives.
- Conduct market and competitive analysis to identify emerging trends, growth opportunities, and areas for expansion.
- Build business cases for new initiatives, products, services, or markets and present to senior leadership.
- Identify, initiate, and manage high-value partnerships, collaborations, and contractual opportunities to drive revenue and business expansion.
- Negotiate terms of deals, including joint ventures, strategic alliances, and other business arrangements.
- Work closely with finance and executive leadership to develop pricing strategies and financial models to support sustainable growth.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders including corporate partners, healthcare organizations, government agencies, payers, and community partners.
- Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and networking engagements to raise visibility and develop business pipelines.
- Act as a trusted advisor and point of contact for key strategic clients and partners.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure successful execution of business development initiatives.
- Lead cross-functional project teams for partnership implementation and performance monitoring.
- Work with executive leadership to align development activities with organizational capacity, capabilities, and goals.
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to business development goals, deal pipeline, conversion rates, and revenue impact.
- Provide regular progress updates to the executive team and recommend adjustments to strategy based on performance and market shifts.

Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Master’s degree in business, public administration, accounting, or related field with 5+ years of experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, accounting, or related field 7+ years of experience preferred; or
- Combination of education and experience: Minimum of 15+ years of experience in mental health with 7+ years of managerial experience.
- Experience in Sales / Business Development required.

- Ability to work with reports and numbers.
- Ability to calculate moderately complex figures and amounts to accurately report activities and budgets.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two-step instructions.
- Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
Computer Skills
- Use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
- Ability to utilize Internet for resources.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations
- Current State of Texas Driver License or if you live in another state, must be currently licensed in that state. If licensed in another state, must obtain a Texas Driver License within three (3) months of employment.
- Liability insurance is required if an employee will operate a personal vehicle on Center property or for Center business. Must be insurable by Center’s liability carrier if employee operates a Center vehicle or drives personal car on Center business. Must have an acceptable driving record.
