POSITION SUMMARY & PURPOSE:
The Diagnostic Family Specialist will conduct initial parent assessments for autism spectrum disorder (ASD) evaluations. Engage families in structured interviews and standardized assessments (BASC-3, Vineland-3, SRS-2, M-CHAT) to gather developmental, behavioral, and social-emotional insights. This role will foster a success-oriented, accountable environment while supporting families with compassion and clinical excellence.

POSITION ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following are duties and responsibilities that the Diagnostic Family Specialist holds:
- Conduct structured ASD-related assessments virtually with families.
- Administer standardized rating scales and parent interviews (BASC-3, Vineland-3, SRS-2, M-CHAT).
- Upload completed assessments and maintain accurate client files.
- Collaborate with the clinical team to support timely ASD evaluations.
- Document assessment outcomes and family interactions per clinical guidelines.
- Ensure professionalism, empathy, and sensitivity during assessments.
- Work closely with the Diagnostic Team to address client needs.
- Hold availability during the afternoon, evenings, while maintaining weekend availability including at least two Saturdays per month
Requirements
EDUCATIONAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
The Diagnostic Family Specialist requires an Associates Degree. A Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Early Childhood Development, Special Education is preferred, and:
- Clinical background or relevant experience working with children and families impacted by developmental disabilities (therapy experience not required).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain accurate records and assessments.
- Comfortable conducting assessments in a virtual environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with ASD assessment tools (BASC-3, Vineland-3, SRS-2, M-CHAT) preferred but not required.
