Core Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and develop individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) tailored to students with diverse behavioral needs.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and school personnel to ensure consistent and effective implementation of BIPs across multiple settings (e.g., classrooms, cafeteria, playground).
- Provide ongoing training, coaching, and support to staff on evidence-based behavior management strategies and techniques.
- Monitor student behavior and intervention effectiveness using data-driven practices, making necessary adjustments to improve outcomes.
- Participate actively in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, contributing to the development of measurable behavior goals and objectives.
- Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of student behaviors, intervention implementation, and progress toward goals.
- Stay informed of current research and best practices in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and behavioral intervention through professional development and continued learning.
Additional Responsibilities
- Deliver individualized check-in/check-out supports to promote positive behavior and foster daily academic and behavioral success.
- Facilitate targeted small-group Social Emotional Learning (SEL) interventions to enhance students’ social skills, emotional regulation, and adaptive behavior.
- Develop and utilize behavior tracking systems to ensure consistent data collection and inform ongoing intervention planning.
- Conduct preference assessments to identify student motivators and design reinforcement systems aligned with individual needs.
- Assist in crisis response and behavioral de-escalation efforts in collaboration with school staff, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- Required: Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification.
- Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education, or a related field.
- Experience working with middle school-aged students preferred.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for engaging with diverse teams, including educators, families, and external partners.
- Ability to work independently as well as within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Solid understanding of federal and state laws governing special education and behavioral supports.
