Job Summary
Accel Therapies is seeking a strategic, innovative leader to join our team as the Director of People Experience and Development. This role will play a critical part in ensuring we provide an exceptional employee experience from onboarding through long-term development, while maintaining consistent and compliant HR practices.
You’ll lead onboarding and HR operations, oversee employee relations and performance issues, and lead the design, execution, and improvement of training and development programs across our growing organization. You'll be instrumental in building scalable processes and content that drive employee engagement, skill development, and high performance.
Key Responsibilities
Training & Development
- Design and implement training programs that support employees onboarding, clinical development, leadership readiness, and internal mobility.
- Develop engaging content using tools such as Articulate Storyline, Camtasia, Adobe Suite, or similar.
- Apply instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE) to create structured, high-impact learning experiences.
- Oversee LMS administration, reporting, and effectiveness tracking.
- Establish and own content innovation and maintenance as policies, processes, and industry knowledge evolve.
- Define success metrics for training, including adoption, completion, and performance impact; drive continuous improvement based on data insights.
- Incorporate feedback and proactively seek out information on new state and federal regulations, clinical best practices, etc., to consistently improve our training processes and ensure they are compliant.
HR Operations & Onboarding
- Lead innovation in the design of our new hire onboarding content and delivery, ensuring a consistent, welcoming, and compliant experience.
- Partner cross-functionally to align onboarding programs with Accel’s culture, values, and role-specific requirements.
- Monitor and refine HR operational workflows to support a growing, multi-state workforce.
- Establish consistent oversight processes that drive compliance with necessary regulations while ensuring our teammates complete required training.
- Directly support our HR Operations lead who owns daily execution of HR & onboarding processes, providing critical development and growth opportunities.
Employee Relations & HR Business Partnership
- Serve as a trusted advisor to managers across the organization on performance management, corrective action, and complex employee relations matters.
- Support the design and delivery of training for Accel’s leaders on effective people management practices and development coaching.
- Ensure continuing compliance with employment laws and internal policies across all HR practices.
- Act as a helpful and empathetic resource for Accel’s teammates to turn to in times of frustration, personal challenges, or grievance
Experience/ Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree is required
- 5+ years of HR experience, including increasing responsibilities across people management, employee relations, and learning & development.
- 3+ years in a leadership role managing HR and/or L&D functions.
- Deep knowledge of instructional design principles (ADDIE, Kirkpatrick Model, etc.).
- Experience designing and delivering training via LMS and using modern authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Captivate, Camtasia, Adobe Creative Suite).
- Knowledge of U.S. employment law and best practices in employee relations.
- Proven ability to lead through influence, manage change, and build trust across teams.
- Excellent communication, project management, and analytical skills.
- Experience in healthcare, behavioral health, or related multi-site service environments.
- Experience with HRIS/LMS integrations and reporting.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
