Join May Institute as an Assistant Director of Education and play a critical role in supporting students with autism and developmental disabilities through high-quality, individualized educational programming.
What You’ll Do
- Support daily school operations in collaboration with the Director of Education and leadership team
- Manage staffing schedules and classroom coverage
- Mentor and coach special education teachers to ensure compliance and quality instruction
- Oversee academic programming, MCAS coordination, and IEP development for assigned caseload
- Conduct assessments and ensure instructional goals align with state and federal regulations
- Develop and maintain relationships with community vocational and volunteer sites
- Assist in generalization of skills across school, community, and vocational environments
- Provide direct classroom and crisis support as needed
What You Bring
- Master’s degree in Special Education
- MA license in Moderate or Severe Disabilities required
- 4+ years of experience working with students with autism and developmental disabilities
- Familiarity with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA); direct experience preferred
- Experience mentoring or supervising educators preferred
- Background in developing vocational programming is a plus
