Job Description
Summary: The Outreach Specialist is responsible for executing on-the-ground community outreach in designated regions to drive awareness, strengthen provider relationships, and support the referral pipeline for Step Ahead ABA. This part-time role is ideal for individuals who are well-connected in the local community, have strong communication skills, and are passionate about increasing access to autism services.
Essential Functions

Conduct in-person visits to pediatrician offices, schools, diagnostic clinics, and local events to promote Step Ahead ABA services.
Establish and maintain positive relationships with key referral sources in the assigned region.
Represent Step Ahead ABA at health fairs, community events, and networking opportunities.
Distribute branded materials and collect contact information to support follow-up efforts.
Log outreach activities and insights using designated tracking tools or CRM systems.
Report regularly to the Outreach & Marketing Manager on progress and local needs.
Collaborate with the marketing team to tailor outreach materials to local audiences.
Maintain a consistent and professional presence in the community to support visibility and trust.
Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment:
This position is remote. Remote work requirements include but are not limited to.
Remote employees are expected to be available and communicative during scheduled work hours.
Step Ahead ABA work rules and other policies continue to apply to offsite work locations.
Employees should seek a quiet and distraction-free working space, to the extent possible.
Employees are expected to maintain their workspace in a safe manner, free from safety hazards.
Employees are expected to take the appropriate measures to ensure protection of employees/clients personal/private health information. The following are some good practices to follow.
The computer must be locked when stepping away from the workstation.
Files must be secured or shredded and not laying around.
Calls must be in an area where others cannot overhear.
This role is field-based and requires regular travel throughout the assigned region. Candidates must have access to reliable transportation, a smartphone, and the ability to work flexible hours.
Virtual Meeting/Trainings
While distractions are often unavoidable, try to keep them to a minimum. No music or television in the background during meetings.
Keep yourself muted during video or audio conferencing unless you are speaking.
Avoid eating a meal during a virtual meeting unless invited to do so by the meeting host.
Smoking or vaping is not permitted during a video conference.
Casual dress is acceptable; however, use discretion. No sleeveless tops, pajamas or other apparel that would not be appropriate to wear outside of your home.
Avoid multi-tasking. Give your full attention to the meeting as if you were face to face.
Physical demands
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
Frequent walking, including the ability to climb stairs, during outreach activities and provider visits.
Occasional standing for extended periods during community events, health fairs, or presentations.
Must be able to drive or travel locally between multiple locations as needed.
Comfortable navigating varying indoor and outdoor environments (e.g., clinics, schools, community centers).
Required Education And Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in outreach and community engagement
- ABA/healthcare-related fields preferred.
Your employment with Step Ahead ABA is part-time and subject to a 90-day introductory period, during which your skills, conduct, and compatibility with our organization will be reviewed.
