ABA Quality Assurance Specialist to help uphold the highest clinical standards in our documentation and service delivery.
The ABA Quality Assurance Specialist plays a critical role in maintaining clinical integrity across ABA services by reviewing and auditing session notes written by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs). This role ensures that documentation aligns with best clinical practices, reflects ethical and effective treatment, and supports data-driven decision making. This is
not a billing or reimbursement position—focus is entirely on
clinical quality, consistency, and compliance.
Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) Utilization Specialist Responsibilities and Duties
- Review BCBA session notes for clinical clarity, completeness, and alignment with treatment goals and behavior intervention plans.
- Evaluate whether documentation reflects appropriate clinical judgment, data-based decisions, and adherence to ABA best practices.
- Provide constructive feedback to BCBAs to support continuous improvement in documentation quality.
- Identify trends in documentation errors or inconsistencies and report findings to Clinical Leadership team.
- Collaborate with clinical leadership to revise or develop documentation standards, templates, and training as needed.
- Assist with internal audits to ensure documentation meets internal standards and external regulatory requirements (e.g., BACB, payors, state boards).
- Support onboarding and ongoing training of clinical staff related to session note quality.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in all documentation review processes.
Job Requirements
- Required: Active BCBA certification in good standing.
- Preferred: 3+ years of clinical experience in ABA service delivery, with a strong understanding of high-quality documentation practices.
- Strong knowledge of ABA principles, ethical guidelines (BACB), and clinical documentation standards.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to identify both clinical and procedural inconsistencies.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, especially in giving constructive feedback to peers.
- Familiarity with Central Reach.
