The Opportunity:
We are seeking skilled and compassionate Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) to join our team in our partnership school districts (may include Scotch Plains/Fanwood, NJ or KIPP Charter Schools in Newark, NJ or others). The ideal candidate will work closely with students, staff, and families to develop and implement behavior interventions that enhance student success in the school setting. The BCBA Consultant will provide direct support to students with behavioral needs, collaborate with teachers and other professionals, and offer guidance on best practices in behavior management and support strategies.
What you’ll do/ Key Responsibilities:
- Behavioral Assessment and Intervention Planning: Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs)
- Design and implement individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
- Monitor and adjust behavior plans as needed, ensuring they align with the students’ academic and social needs
- Collaboration & Consultation:Provide tier 1 (whole school or whole group), tier 2 (small groups), and tier 3 (individualized) supports behavior supports based on the schools’ need (in general education, inclusive spaces and special-education classrooms)
- Work with teachers, support staff and administrators to support the implementation of behavioral interventions in the classroom and other school environments
- Provide professional development and training to school staff on behavior management strategies, data collection and other evidence-based practices
- Collaborate with Special Education Teams to ensure student’s behavioral needs are integrated into their IEPs (as needed)
- Data Collection & Analysis:Establish and maintain data collection systems to monitor student progress and effectiveness of interventions
- Analyze data regularly to track progress and make data-driven decisions for modifying behavior interventions
- Report on progress and updates in monthly consult summaries and marking period progress reports
- Ongoing Professional Development:Stay current with trends and developments in the field of behavior analysis and special education/education
Position Qualifications:
- Education/Certification: Master’s Degree (in ABA, Special Ed, Psychology or Related field) (required)
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) Certification from the BACB (required)
- Would also consider a Bachelor’s Level BCaBA (contact us for more details)
- Experience:Minimum of 2 years’ experience conducting FBAs and writing BIPs
- Preference for school-based consultation experience
