In 2015, Achievement Behavior Services (ABS) was founded through the collaborative initiative of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). ABS has a history of supporting children with a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and their families with direct, in-home/in-community ABA therapeutic services. Our approach uses the principles and practices of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to mentor and support these children towards increasing their communication, adaptability, resilience, and independence. We are looking for dedicated and compassionate Behavior Technicians to commit to one of our clients for ABA Therapy sessions on a regular, weekly schedule. In this role, you will have the support of a board-certified behavior analyst (BCBA) who will supervise your work and guide you through an individualized treatment plan (BIP) with personalized SMART goals to work on independently with the student. You will be collecting data and completing daily session notes in this role.
Daily Job Tasks as a Behavior Technician:1:1 Goal-oriented, in home, direct service work with a student involving implementation of ABA approaches including but not limited to discrete trial teaching, prompting, modeling, redirection, reinforcements, and reward-systems.Measure, assess, and document skill acquisition of student's progress on the Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) Thorough and comprehensive session-to-session documentation, data analysis, and billing.Communicate effectively and respectfully with clients or students, caregivers, supervisors, and coworkersActively engaging with clinical direction and professional feedback from BCBA supervisor(s) Ideal Qualifications of a Behavior Technician:Relevant Areas of Study: Applied Behavior Analytics, psychology, special education, or occupational therapy, speech language pathologyHelpful: Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certificate from the Behavior Analyst Certification BoardStrong stakeholder communication skills requiredAbility to be adaptable under high-stress situationsExhibits professional administrative reliability: punctuality and responsivenessProven experience working with pre-school and elementary school-aged childrenAdditional evidence of successful work with patients suffering from Autism and development issuesMultilingual Behavior Technicians are helpful but not requiredOther experience, certificates, or qualifications as required by NY State.Intuitive, engaging, compassionate, and person-centered approachesProven experience with documenting progress notes and data points aligning with individualized treatment plans and goalsClick apply if you are ready to make an impact on a student's life as a Behavior Technician with Achievement Behavior Services!
