We are excited to announce an opening for a
Grant Compliance Specialist to join our team in Wayne, NJ. This vital role will be responsible for managing and stewarding a diverse portfolio of public and private grants that fund housing and employment programs for individuals with disabilities.
As a
Grant Compliance Specialist, you will ensure programmatic and fiscal compliance with funding requirements, collaborate with internal teams to track performance outcomes, and support sustainability through accurate reporting and strong funder relationships.
Starting Pay Rate: $65,000
Responsibilities
- Maintain a $15M+ portfolio of grants through regular stewardship of funders, maintenance of a report and renewal schedule, and development and submission of required reports and renewals
- Build a comprehensive understanding of all existing and new grants, summarizing key objectives, and creating work plans for internal staff
- Develop or identify data collection/ survey systems and policies to ensure grant-related outputs, demographics, outputs and impact are accurately captured
- Meet regularly with staff responsible for implementing grants to ensure compliance with deliverables
- Interface with fiscal staff to ensure proper coding and monitor spending
- Collaborate with fiscal staff, executive directors/ program managers and other relevant internal stakeholders to understand progress toward grant goals, objectives and milestones, troubleshooting challenges to ensure all benchmarks are met according to timeline
- Draft and submit budget modifications and accounting reports as necessary
- Coach and encourage internal staff to build relationships with and cultivate existing donors
- Provide timely acknowledgement letters and tax receipts for foundation and corporate grant funders
- Represent Community Options at events and functions
- Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned
- Employee must cooperate with the license and department staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3-5 years of grant writing or program management experience in healthcare or non-profit space with proven record of maintaining funding relationships at the six and seven-figure level
- Firm understanding of grant project budget spending and reporting
- Comprehensive understanding of storytelling, outputs, outcomes, and impact as they relate to grant reporting
- Strong project management skills, ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities, ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, strong collaboration skills, and ability to be assertive and follow-up both internally and externally
- Strong written and oral communication skills with ability to effectively present facts and recommendations
- Comfort with and ability to lead extra-departmental teams and projects
- Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, critical thinking and communication skills
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of checks of criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing
