Peer Support Partner Specialistsin
Middlesex County, NJto provide person-centered care tailored to meet the needs of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Peer Support Partner Specialist provides family supports and resources as part of a team that assists youth and their families through crises to success.
We are offering a
$1,500 initial sign-on bonus opportunity for New Hires!(Must complete 90 days of satisfactory employment to be eligible). New hires will be eligible for a subsequent bonus of
$1,500 after 9 monthsof satisfactory employment.
New hires will be eligible for Day 1 benefits upon hire!
Starting pay is $25.00/ hour
Responsibilities
- Provide family support, education, and advocacy
- Coordinate resources
- Connect families within the community
- Participate in building support teams
- Ensure family and youth voice is incorporated in all program operations
Minimum Requirements
- Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with families receiving supports
- Ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm in crisis situations
- Strong advocate for peers
- Must have experience as caregiver or primary support person of youth with IDD and/or dual diagnosis
- Preferred bachelor’s degree in human service or related field with two years of experience providing support to youth caregivers who have I/DD and/or I/DD and mental health needs
- Hold NJ Peer Support Partner certification or has ability to obtain one
