At Elevated Kids, early intervention services are provided in the child's home and/or community settings, as well as in one of our 3 local offices/centers and individualized to meet the specific needs of each child and family.
Job Description
We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented
Housekeeper to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene throughout our facility. As a Housekeeper, you will play a key role in creating a safe, sanitary, and sensory-considerate environment for children, staff, and visitors. You must be comfortable working in a space where children may have unique sensory, behavioral, and communication needs, and be respectful of the routines and quiet atmosphere required. Most often, you will work independently during hours that there are no children or staff in the centers. We are looking for a Housekeeper who is self-motivated, shows initiative, and is able to work independently. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in housekeeping, janitorial, or cleaning. Specific experience in healthcare, childcare, or an educational setting is a plus. The Housekeeper will work independently and efficiently with attention to detail. The Housekeeper will also be willing to learn about autism, how to work in a sensory-sensitive environment, as well as be reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
General Responsibilities
- Perform daily cleaning of therapy rooms, offices, waiting areas, restrooms, kitchens, and common areas across 3 locations.
- Disinfect surfaces, toys, and equipment according to safety and health protocols.
- Handle laundry duties, including washing and folding towels, linens, and soft items.
- Monitor and restock cleaning supplies, paper goods, and hygiene items. Inform supervisor when supplies are running low.
- Respond to cleaning needs promptly and discretely, especially during operating hours.
- Follow cleaning schedules and procedures to maintain a sensory-friendly environment (e.g., using unscented products, limiting noise during cleaning).
- Communicate respectfully with staff and follow directions from supervisors.
Qualifications and Skills
- Previous housekeeping, janitorial, or cleaning experience preferred.
- Experience in a healthcare, childcare, or educational setting is a plus.
- Ability to work independently with attention to detail and efficiency.
- Understanding of or willingness to learn about autism and how to work in a sensory-sensitive environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
- Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks (lifting, bending, standing for long periods).
