exciting opportunity as a full-time Mental Health Professional at May
Center for Early Intervention in West Springfield, MA. The Mental Health
Professional works under the Early Intervention Program Director as part
of a multidisciplinary team to provide culturally and linguistically
appropriate services to children birth to three years of age in a
family-centered program. The Mental Health Professional works directly
with the children and their families in the child\'s natural environment
including but not limited to the child\'s home and/or daycare settings.
They coordinate with families, multidisciplinary team members, and
outside providers, as appropriate to maximize positive developmental and
learning outcomes for children and families served. Your role in action:
All Mental Health Professionals must meet one of the following criteria:
A minimum of a master\'s degree from an accredited recognized
educational institution in counseling psychology, clinical psychology,
developmental psychology, or education psychology Current licensure as a
Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) or as a Licensed Marriage and
Family Therapist (LMFT) by the Massachusetts Board of Allied Mental
Health and Human Service Professionals A minimum of a master\'s degree
from an accredited recognized educational institute in Mental Health
Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field and be
\"license eligible\" for LMFT or LMHC with official written verification
by the applicant\'s accredited educational institution Technical Skills:
Direct Service: Provide home and community visits to address needs
related to the child and family Participate in assessments including but
not limited to the Battelle Developmental Inventory - 3rd edition
Support children and families in participating in activities with
neurotypical peers in playgroups in the community Document all services
provided through progress notes Service Coordination: Coordinate needed
supports identified by the family during Individualized Family Service
Plan (IFSP) meetings Serve as a liaison between the family and ancillary
providers Ensure that all paperwork is completed in a timely manner Lead
IFSP meetings with participant from the IFSP team Monitor status of
functional outcomes and services provided Review and modify the IFSP as
needed Review 6-month evaluations in a timely manner Document each
interaction outside of direct service with the child and family through
the communication log Assist in transition planning 6 months prior to
each child\'s third birthday Submit referrals to the Local Educational
Agency (LEA)Attend each child\'s eligibility determination and
Individualized Education Program (IEP) Meetings Other Responsibilities
Complete 25 hours per week of billable activities (i.e., direct service,
assessment, IFSP meetings) Participate in weekly staff meetings and
monthly staff trainings Participate in workshops and trainings required
by the Department of Public Health (DPH)
