As an Authorization Specialist you are responsible for providing exceptional customer service, collecting insurance information, and securing authorizations to help our families maintain coverage for services.

Responsibilities
Role Overview For Authorization Specialist
- Assists in performing eligibility checks for ongoing patients
- Submit and receive 10 authorizations per day
- Follow specific tasks as outlined in computer workflow software
- Enter information accurately and timely
- Assemble documents to fax to appropriate persons
- Contact physician offices via fax and/or phone
- Contact insurance offices via fax and/or phone to obtain authorization
- Serve as a liaison between clinics and insurance providers by answering field questions related to insurance policies
Required Skills
Profile of an Ideal Candidate For Authorization Specialist
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Inquisitive about the authorization process
- Possess time management skills
- Able to analyze and evaluate information to secure authorizations
- Prior experience within the healthcare, revenue cycle or customer service is preferred
- Demonstrates computer literacy
- Knowledge of medical terminology and previous healthcare experience is a plus
- Must be comfortable with daily commute to Home Office on Northwest side of Indianapolis
