Behavioral Framework – the leading provider of ABA therapy to children diagnosed with autism in the DMV area – is looking for an experienced Authorization Coordinator.
The Authorization Coordinator is responsible for tracking and timely managing insurance authorizations, and accurate recordkeeping in the organization. They will be responsible for ensuring that authorization staff prioritize work appropriately and minimize financial risk for the organization and the patient. The Authorization Coordinator will serve as the first line of escalation for staff questions on workflows, processes, and decisions relating to financial risk. This position reports to the Authorization Manager.

Essential Functions
Authorizations
- Manage a system and guide for submitting ABA authorization requests to various insurance payers and process complex submissions.
- Coordinate clients, physicians, and insurance companies to fulfill authorization requirements.
- Educate clients on legal documents and manage signed documents.
- Coordinate with clinical management team and provide status updates on clients’ authorizations.
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports for clinical management on authorization status, expired authorizations, authorization service usage, and various other key metrics.
- Train new staff, provide ongoing training for existing staff and assist in the planning and development of training materials.
- Complete regular quality and productivity audits as requested.
- Serves as a knowledge expert and an escalation point for staff questions and concerns. Assists with questions regarding team functions, workflows, and direction.
- Assist with special projects, initiatives and billing tasks as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience
- Prior lead/ supervisory experience within revenue cycle in a healthcare setting is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of regulations related to Medicaid and commercial insurance.
- Min High School diploma, college degree preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Maintain confidentiality; adhere to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Knowledge of the behavioral health industry and terms.
- Experience in managing recordkeeping and tracking systems.
- Experience with patient care coordination.
- Experience working with insurance companies.
- Knowledge of industry regulations.
- Excellent organizational skills.
Work Environment, Physical Conditions
