Remarkable way you will make a difference...
- Provides comprehensive recreational therapy assessment and treatment plan for each client served.
- Conducts regular home , community, or clinic-based individual and/or group recreational therapy sessions for clients on caseload.
- Consults and collaborates with family and team members in support of client needs.
- Plans programming for group sessions in collaboration with team members.
- Interacts with clients to demonstrate respect, acknowledgement of rights, and dignity at all times .
- Keeps abreast of current treatment technology, literature, practices, and regulations.
What You Need To Be Considered…
- Bachelor's degree or higher in recreational therapy (or related field with required coursework) from an accredited program required.
- Directly relevant applied experience in recreational therapy and working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is a plus, but not required .
- Certification from the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification ( CTRS ).
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Valid Indiana driver's license and good driving record.
- Must meet and maintain background screening requirements of program(s) assigned to.
- No felony convictions or other criminal offenses involving a dependent population.
- Successful completion of pre-employment physical.
Essential Job Functions
Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight (up to 35lbs); to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.
Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction.
Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
