As a School Physical Therapist at Light Street Special Education Solutions, a division of LEARN Academy, you play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of physical therapy services to students with special needs. Your primary responsibility is to help students improve their physical abilities to enhance their participation in the educational environment.
Your responsibilities span across various school settings, interacting with students, teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student care. You conduct evaluations, develop individualized treatment plans, and monitor progress toward physical and educational goals.

Essential Job Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess students' physical abilities and needs.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that align with students' IEP goals.
- Provide direct physical therapy services to improve strength, mobility, coordination, and balance.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other IEP team members to support students' participation in classroom activities and extracurricular activities.
- Assist in the selection and use of assistive devices and adaptive equipment.
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide insights on student progress and recommended interventions.
- Train school staff on techniques to support students' physical needs throughout the school day.
- Mentor and/or supervise assistants or students in the physical therapy community.
- Advocate for students' needs within the educational system to ensure they have access to necessary resources.
- Stay current with best practices in school-based physical therapy through ongoing professional development.

- Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from an accredited program
- Maintain California license
- Current CA Licensure and COC or CTC (or willing to obtain)
- Current negative TB skin test or risk assessment
