We are looking for an experienced Medical Billing Specialist for our Clinical Support Center in Ft. Lauderdale who likes the challenge of a fast-paced environment. Ideally, the candidate must possess a willingness and ability to learn quickly and be a motivated and detail-oriented team player. It is important to be polished in appearance and possess great communication skills, professionalism and always with a positive attitude.
The role of the Medical Billing Specialist is to send accurate and timely billing each week to all insurances, including third-party payers and Medicaid. This includes resolution of any billing problems and issues that may arise in the process that could impact a successfully high clean claim rate. Additionally, the Billing Specialist will work all rejections within the clearinghouse to ensure timely filing of all claims.
Responsibilities

- Ensure proper billing processes are followed and efficiencies are created to increase collection of revenue.
- Prepare weekly audits for overlapping, EVV, and authorizations.
- Completes weekly billing for all payers including BCBS, UHC, Cigna, Aetna, as well as Medicaid and other third-party payers.
- Strong understanding of prior authorization process.
- Maintains patient demographic information and data collection systems.
- Verify imported claims in Central Reach
- Works all claim rejections within clearinghouse daily.
- Working knowledge of Medicaid portals.
- Review claims in incomplete, hold, and rejected folders.
- Completes unbilled report in timely manner.
- Participates in development and documentation of procedures, forms, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
- A strong understanding of which payers, including contracts, fee schedules and in-network/out-of-network status.
- Ability to understand CPT, Procedure Codes, Diagnosis Codes.
- Working knowledge of payer websites for claim status, patient eligibility, and to retrieve an EOB.
- Understand patient statements and provide great service to patient families, including timely response to billing emails and primary contact for customer service phone lines.
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

- Knowledge of all confidentiality requirements regarding patients and strict maintenance of proper confidentiality on all such information.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and spelling and office ethics.
- 2-3 years of healthcare billing and/or collections experience.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
