INVO is looking for a motivated and collaborative
Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support the delivery of occupational therapy services in our inclusive charter school setting in Lynn, MA. The COTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to help students develop the skills needed for success in the classroom and beyond. Key Responsibilities:
- Implement occupational therapy treatment plans and interventions developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist (OT).
- Provide direct services to students in individual, group, or classroom settings focused on fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care, and adaptive functioning.
- Assist with data collection and progress monitoring to inform service delivery and IEP updates.
- Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers to integrate therapy goals into the school day.
- Support the use of adaptive equipment, assistive technology, and sensory tools as recommended by the OT.
- Document student performance, maintain session notes, and report observations to the OT.
- Participate in school-based meetings as needed and contribute to a positive, student-centered school climate.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Current Massachusetts license as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
- Certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
- Experience working with children or adolescents in educational or pediatric settings.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work independently under OT supervision.
