At North Shore Pediatric Therapy, we’re on a mission to empower children with autism and developmental disabilities to reach their fullest potential. If you’re an experienced RBT looking for a company that values your skills and offers opportunities to grow, we’d love for you to join our team.
We are seeking Registered Behavior Technicians who are ready to step into a meaningful role with a collaborative, supportive organization. Whether you’re looking to deepen your expertise or find a team that shares your values, this could be the change you’ve been seeking.
What’s in it for You?
- Make a Lasting Impact: Imagine the moment a child speaks their first word, ties their shoes, or learns to say “I did it!”—and knowing you were part of that journey.
- Be Part of a Mission: Our assent-based care approach focuses on respecting boundaries, building trust, and teaching in ways that align with each child’s strengths and preferences.
- Embrace the Messiness: Be prepared for the realities of life with children—changing diapers, handling meltdowns, navigating behaviors like elopement—all while maintaining compassion and care. It’s not always neat, but it’s always meaningful.
- Career Growth Opportunities: Many of our RBTs have gone on to become BCBAs, OTs, SLPs, and leaders in therapy and support roles. Let this be the first step in your career in pediatric therapy.
- Collaborative Culture: Join a team where your voice matters. Monthly social events and an emphasis on open communication create a supportive, inclusive environment.
- A Team That’s Got Your Back: Join a collaborative, passionate group of therapists and mentors who celebrate successes, big and small, with monthly social events and a supportive work culture.
What You'll Do As a Registered Behavior Technician
As an experienced Behavior Therapist, you know the day-to-day: implementing BCBA-created therapy plans, engaging children in meaningful play, and navigating both triumphs and challenges with patience and empathy. At NSPT, you’ll take on these tasks while being part of an interdisciplinary team committed to excellence and compassion.
- Respect Autonomy: Engage with children in a way that invites their participation and honors their preferences.
- Be Active: Play on the floor, run, and make therapy fun and engaging while teaching important skills.
- Handle Challenges with Compassion: Navigate moments of elopement (running away), big emotions, or physical behaviors with patience and understanding, always focusing on safety and progress.
- Celebrate Successes: Whether it’s a first word, a smile, or a small step forward, you’ll see the lasting impact of your work.
What Makes You a Great Fit?
We’re looking for passionate individuals who:
- You’re already a licensed RBT and have experience working with children with developmental disabilities.
- Have experience working with children—especially those with developmental disabilities or special needs.
- Are comfortable with the messier side of life, including changing diapers and navigating intense emotions.
- Believe in honoring each child’s individuality and using neuroaffirming approaches to care.
- Thrive in active, hands-on environments and can stay calm under pressure.
- Are empathetic, patient, and excited to make learning fun.
- Are considering careers in ABA therapy, child psychology, education, occupational therapy, speech therapy, or related fields.
- See this as more than just a job—it’s a stepping stone to their future.
- Physical Demands: This role requires regular sitting, standing, bending, walking, and lifting up to 45 lbs. Visual and auditory abilities are necessary for effective communication. The work environment noise level is typically moderate. Reasonable accommodations will be provided for individuals with disabilities.
If you’ve worked as a teacher’s aide, camp counselor, caregiver, or in any role supporting kids, you already have a great foundation. And if you’re just inspired by our mission, we want to hear from you too.
What We Offer:
- Competitive Pay: Starting at $22.50/hour (for certified RBTs), with increases for experience, education, and certification.
- Career Path & Certification Support: Comprehensive training for Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs). For those pursuing a BCBA, our formalized Assistant Clinical Coordinator (ACC) pathway supports your exam preparation and helps you earn both restricted and unrestricted hours.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Thrive in a multi-disciplinary environment working alongside professionals in ABA, Neuropsychology, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, and Mental Health.
- Flexible Scheduling: We work around your availability! Many of our kiddos need care after school, evenings, and Saturdays. Let us know your schedule, and we’ll build a caseload that fits.
- Paid Time Off: Full-time employees receive 13 days PTO, 2 personal days, and 7 company holidays.
- Wellness Benefits: Health, dental, and vision insurance offered with company contribution. Free Calm app and Teladoc subscriptions for you and five friends or family members.
- Professional Development: Learn from experienced therapists and build the skills to shape your career.
- Community & Culture: Be part of an inclusive team where open communication and shared values lead the way.
