We provide Occupational, Physical, Speech Therapy services to children birth to 18 years of age in our clinics. We are seeking an experienced Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join our team.
Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join our team. This role will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning and upkeep of facilities across a portfolio of children and adult rehab clinics. The successful candidate will have a strong background in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and solving a variety of maintenance issues, with an emphasis on a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Facility Maintenance: Float throughout the portfolio of clinics, performing routine and emergency maintenance tasks, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for patients and staff.
- Troubleshooting and Diagnostics: Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment failures and facility systems such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other mechanical systems. Solve complex maintenance issues in a timely manner.
- Problem-Solving: Take a proactive approach to identify potential maintenance issues before they become problems. Implement solutions to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Communication: Work closely with clinic staff, management, and outside vendors to ensure smooth communication regarding maintenance needs, repairs, and project updates.
- Fast-Paced Work Environment: Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting, responding to urgent issues efficiently while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
- Self-Starter: Demonstrate a high level of independence and initiative, working without the need for direct supervision.
- Documentation and Reporting: Keep accurate records of completed work, repairs, and any maintenance schedules or preventative tasks.
- Compliance: Ensure all work is compliant with local codes, regulations, and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance or a related field, with hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving expertise.
- Strong knowledge of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to urgent maintenance issues promptly.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- A self-starter with a proactive approach to maintenance needs.
- Flexibility to travel between multiple locations as needed.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in facilities maintenance or a related trade (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing).
- Experience working in healthcare or rehabilitation settings.
- Familiarity with facility management software or computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in varying environmental conditions.
- Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and work in confined spaces for extended periods of time.
