Behavior Technician PRN – Adult Center for Autism (ACA)
Role Responsibilities
The Behavior Technician (BT) works as part of a treatment team at the Adult Center for Autism with coaching of the BCBA, implementing individualized Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) programs and treatment plans. We are looking for someone that is energetic to provide direct one on one and small group training using behavior analysis procedures for teens/adults with a diagnosis of autism and/or intellectual disabilities who require skills training. Training consists of skill acquisition for self-help skills, social skills, communication skills, etc. The BT is maintains high levels of energy and a clean and safe environment throughout the day. The BT is dependable and motivated to make a meaningful difference in the lives of diverse individuals.
The BT will receive comprehensive training on ABA techniques and guidance on how to follow an individualized behavior support plan and programs. The BT assists individuals in clinic and classroom settings. Continuing education and supervision is assigned and provided through Texana. The BTs receive clinical supervision from the treatment team Behavior Analyst and employment supervision from the managers. There is a video monitoring system, which allows for frequent observation and supervision of the treatment session by supervisors, parents, and other staff.
BTs in good standing may be able to advance to Registered Behavior Analyst status with increases in pay and responsibilities. Advancement requires skill acquisition; good work ethic; and completion of all training requirements and certification.

- High school diploma or GED
- No experience required.
Preferred Education and/or Certifications, Experience, Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in ABA, psychology, education, or a related field
- Experience as a Behavior Technician in an ABA program
- Experience with individuals with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities including Autism
Job Related Physical Requirements
- Must be able to perform SAMA and CPR. Training is provided to employees once hired
- Must be able to perform moderate to heavy lifting (15#- 45#), pushing, stooping, light carrying (15#), repeated bending, reaching above shoulder, simple grasping, hearing, walking, sitting and twisting
- Must have ability to see, write, operate office equipment, operate a motor vehicle and have depth perception.
